True Blue Therapy, LLC.
"Function with a splash!"
Our Aquatic Therapy Program is designed for
the pediatric population with a variety of
disabilities, including: Neurologically involved,
Developmental delays, Sensory Integration
deficits, amputees, arthritis and many others.

Why Water?
The properties of water combined with
adequate handling techniques can offer the
child unique opportunities to develop needed
skills. Enhancement of functional abilities can
be achieved while using water properties such
as buoyancy, relaxation and tone reduction,
changes in sensory input, water resistance,
and many more.

It's FUN!
In order to work with children in Aquatic
Therapy, the therapist must adapt a playful
attitude. There are psychological advantages:
Both child and therapist are more relaxed,
which creates a powerful atmosphere for
therapeutic interaction. The child's attention is
focused on the game rather than the
performance of a skill.
Benefits of Aquatic Therapy
Water's buoyancy virtually eliminates the
effects of gravity - supporting 90 percent of
the body's weight for reduced impact and
greater flexibility. Water acts as a cushion
for the body's weight-bearing joints,
reducing stress on muscles, tendons and
ligaments. As a result, aquatic therapy can
greatly reduce the injury and strain
common to most land based exercises.
Aquatic Therapy allows patients to:
  • Move independently more easily
  • Assume an upright posture earlier
  • Practice higher levels of fine and
    gross motor skills
  • Slow down movement to
    accommodate equilibrium reactions
  • Take greater risks with higher level
    activities
  • Experience decreased hypersensitivity
    to touch
  • Increase motivation and self-
    confidence

Aquatic Therapy offers a variety of benefits to
your child including improvements in:
mobility, coordination, strength, endurance,
balance and self-confidence. It allows your
child to have fun while accomplishing
important therapeutic goals
